Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

It doesn't matter what you do with hers since she's not unlimited. Just activate whichever phone you want on your line, since it's not your contract extension you won't lose your unlimited. Just leave her phone as is and you can activate the new phone on your line either with your old SIM or you can go to the store. Your situation is different than the topic of this thread. When you get the g3 first thing pop your old SIM card in and power it up. If that doesn't work you can activate it over the phone or in store. You are doing the two line trick, this threads trick is for people with one line.

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

New subscriber.

Line 1 Droid Incredible 2 UDP (have upgrade)
Line 2 Iphone 4s UDP (have upgrade)
Line 3 Dumb phone Samsung Intensity pay as you go data plan (have upgrade)

Want to order an iphone 5s on line 3 and then use it on line 1. Do I have too activate it on line 3 first and then transfer it to line 1 or can I just activate it on line 1?

Thanks

You have to activate it on line 3 first or you will lose the UDP.

No you do not. Just take the sim card out and put it in the new phone. They the pending activation will fall off.

Re: Best Buy Mobile lets me keep Unlimited Data Plan on Verizon?

That's only if the tower in the area is experiencing high demand. If you leave that area and connect to another tower, you'll be back on regular speeds.

Re: Verizon: How to keep Unlimited Data and get phone on subsidized price

So anyone? My contract is up but I bought a m8 on eBay, I love it and rooted etc and don't need a new phone, can I order a new phone not activate it myself but sell it? Should I toss the new SIM card or doesn't it matter? I can't imagine someone else activating my new SIM on their account would affect mine but who knows. Anyone?

I kinda figured, so I can post it as new, no SIM card, any other problems you can think of? I don't see why it wouldn't work. Bonus if I'm back on contract I don't get throttled. I just don't need a new phone but I always need money.

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

Ok, I'm nervous that Verizon might have closed the door on transferring your unlimited data line upgrade to a tiered data line to upgrade at subsidized pricing.

Yesterday, the 27th I transferred the unlimited data line upgrade to another line online. The order went thru just fine, the unlimited line was showing the contract date from the other line and the other line was grayed out saying waiting for device. Today I went on my mobile app and the unlimited data line is now showing July 27, 2016 add contract end date instead of the date that was on the other line.

Order hasn't shipped yet. But thinking the back door got closed. Any input?

Just looked, the unlimited line is showing yesterday's date as 2016 as upgrade date, the other line is showing the original date again and not grayed out saying waiting for activation, none of the lines are grayed out.

If I'm reading your description right, the contract date of your UDP line has been extended 2 years. This is what it's supposed to show. When you use the upgrade the contract on the donating lines is extended 2 years but it's still keeping the unlimited data plan. You won't be changing the contract date on the line receiving the upgrade and that you ordered the upgrade on.

Thanks. I was thinking the dates would swap also, when they didn't got nervous.

When I transferred the unlimited data line to the tiered data line, I chose the line that I plan on using the new phone on, so the SIM card will be programmed for that line, will I be ok to use the SIM card that is coming with the phone since its not the unlimited line?

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

I am so sorry if I'm not doing this right. I just dont' know how forums work, and I coulnt figure out how to post my own questions. I have a single line contract with Verizon that I let the upgrade option pass and my contract has expired. Unlimited data :( I desperately want to get my contract renewed. I suffer from Post concussive syndrome and mix up numbers horribly. I thought THIS month was the experation of my contratct, turns out it was January. 1st month instead of 7th. Is there any way for me to find a way to get my contract renewed? Again sorry if I posted this wrong.

You should be. It is only using the best buy model that you should discard the sim card. I always have used my old sim unless I needed a SIM card.

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

The contract upgrade date is still something I'm not 100% sure about. Does this mean the line with unlimited (we'll call it "Line 1") that received the phone from the dumb line ("Line 2") is now under contract for 2 years (and therefore "locked in" to an UDP until July 2016)? Or does UDP Line 1 continue as a month-to-month plan? Just wondering if there is any UDP "protection" or if we're still flying by the seat of our pants and at the mercy of VZW?

Edited to add: In my case, the upgrade was transferred TO the dumb line. The dumb line did not have an available upgrade.

Re: [Instruction] How to Keep Unlimited Data on Verizon

My S5 is to be delivered today. Everything went the way its suppose to... the UDP line hasthe contract extended and the UDP is still there after transferring my upgrade to a tiered data line. Now as I understand it, all I have to do is unplug my UDP sim card from old phone and plug it into the S5 and Im good to go. Correct?
Another big question I have is... what do I do to get insurance on the S5???

Thanks for your help on the forums, you have to be one patient guy. :) one of the lines I can use the old SIM card, the other one has a iPhone on going to s4, so I'll have use the SIM card that comes the phone

And thanks to everyone else for your help.
