Is anyone else mildly annoyed at the 'gap' at the top of the Note 8 screen?

Noticed it before. Not sure what samsung is thinking. Defiantly a waste of space. Can't think of a reason for that space. Doesn't bother me though but it really shouldn't be there.

Nova makes it better. No gap and I can even have widgets overlap to really tighten up the screen. Totally worth the money.

Using Nova, I opted to hide the notification bar on my home screen (it only shows up when I'm in an app). The widget I use on my home screen displays all the important info I want to see, so the notification bar is kind of redundant and unnecessary.

Using action launcher or rootless pixel launcher I've got no issues whatsoever. Honestly the only reason I don't use samsung's launcher is the "swipe down" action pulls up the app drawer. Should be notification shade IMO.

Unfamiliar with this issue. What is "Nova Launcher"? Are we selling something here? Guess i'll have to research it.
If you look at the screenshot I posted. There is a significant amount of screen real estate that can't be used for anything. Essentially a waste of space on the home screen. Nova Launcher is a home screen replacement app that is highly customizable. No root required.

Go into home screen settings and change it.

I use Nova Launcher and don't notice a gap at all. With Nova, there's more or less gap depending on your grid settings. I don't normally have a grid setting as shown below, but I did this as a test . The whole screen is usable from what I can see.

Never noticed and not a big deal to me.
Well it's there and it is a problem if you want to fit more on your home screen. I was moving and adding widgets on my girlfriend's s8 and it was driving nuts I keep having to use more home screen pages. This problem is solved by using Nova Launcher.

What gaps?

Also don't judge how I make it through my work day
