I get my phone back today.

Unrepairable due to water damage?!?

Phone has never been in water, Ever.

They did not even wipe the data from the phone.

Phone was sent back as-is.

I took this phone apart and used a eye loupes, there is no water damage on any circuits or corrosion.

On top of that, they kept my battery Cover... The guy I got my RA # from said to send the unit in minus only the battery and sd card.

To top it off, their phone lines are down and only live chat was available.

Here is a transcript.

Gustavo: Hello Guest. Welcome to LG Electronics! How may I provide you with excellent service today?
Guest: I had a repair in and I received my phone back today without repair
stating water damage and Missing the Back Battery Cover
Guest: Your phone system is down and I want to know who I can talk to about this travesty
Guest: Hello?
Gustavo: I am here
Gustavo: sorry about that.
Gustavo: I was not able to type in for a moment.
Gustavo: i se.
Gustavo: I see.
Gustavo: I should let you know a bit more on how the process works.
Gustavo: When and if you are in fact
ready to send in a phone, original
phone accessory or device to LG, please
do not include accessories, unless they
themselves form part of the Return
Authorization or repair service, such
as (If you are sending in a phone):
Battery back covers, batteries,
changeable faceplates, Bluetooth
devices, chargers, USB data cables, car
chargers, Micro SD memory cards, SIM
card (in case you own a GSM type
phone), bear in mind that all the
information on the phone will be
automatically erased for your own
privacy and security. You will need to
deactivate the service on your phone
(In case it is a CDMA type phone), also
make sure to include a copy of the
original sales receipt inside of the
package, at this point you will cover
the shipping to LG and LG will cover
the shipping back to you, as well you
should please try to get a tracking
number from the shipper you will use.
Gustavo: As you see you had to keep the
back cover and all accessories.
Gustavo: Only send in the phone and the
parts which where set for the repair.
Guest: Regardless I need to speak to
someone, this phone was never in water
Gustavo: AS for the phone line, due to
issues we have been having for the last
2 weeks today the lines dropped.
Gustavo: And had a high saturation of customers due to this.
Gustavo: We have had tornado storms for
the part 2 weeks and the aftermath did a bit of damage.
Guest: I need a contact request for someone to contact me by phone
Gustavo: The technicians send information to what they find.
Gustavo: Unfortunately that would not
be possible today. Our lines are all down.
Gustavo: You could try calling back in tomorrow.
Gustavo: To see what else could be done
regarding this actual request.
Guest: Are you saying you are unwilling to put in a request for someone to contact me?
Gustavo: The direct line for Mobile department would be: 800-793-8896
Gustavo: We are LG live Chat.
Guest: I am a customer.
Gustavo: Our service is directed towards online support.
Gustavo: We do not have a way to contact you currently.
Gustavo: Due to the fact that the lines are down.
Guest: You have no ticket system?
Gustavo: which was why I suggested to contact us again tomorrow.
Gustavo: Unfortunately no. The most I could do is type into an account that
you contacted us and needed to speak with someone so the next agent can see the case once you contact us once again.
Gustavo: It has been pretty crazy for us this past week. Otherwise it would have been much easier to reach an agent.
Guest: Given the information presented I opt for what you stated so I have something on file
Gustavo: Sure.
Gustavo: No problem
Gustavo: Let me create a case for you and give you the case number.

Now I understand A power outage, but get some tech support with some knowledge and not pawn me off on a phone number.

I had a bicycle frame crack and was shipped an upgraded frame free. LOVE SPECIALIZED Bicycles.

LG is on my $hit list until this gets resolved.

. Why was it sent in in the first place. I carry my phone in my pants pocket all day long and dropped it in water several times and it still works beautifully.

And yes Specialized is the best bikes out there.

after looking this phone over, the screen is further scratched.

And it also looks like the LCD is bent as it has deep shadows or light reflections..

This damn phone is in worse condition than when I sent it... wtf

Clarification:

Sent in because Bluetooth will not work says address unavailable.

Loud Speaker stopped putting out sound. Receiver part on front of phone works, but not back speaker, no it's not that the cable was unplugged

Upon inspection, some sort of film was on the metal lcd back plate(not on the lcd tho) which was not there before I sent it in.

Phone is also missing three screws two for the data port and one back case screw.

Further inspection the LCD is damaged, there are fuzzy off color spots in the top left of the screen which were NOT there before.

Also, the loud speaker wires were detached and stuck betseen the middle and front of the case where it snaps together? (wtf)

The Loud speaker is toast, this needs to be replaced.

Still no idea on the bluetooth, it says address unavailable so it must be FuXed as well.

I am going to have one hell of a chat with them, if I do not get a phone under warranty expect this on Reddit.

On phone with LG now, sending battery cover back separate shipment.

Getting yet another RA Number it Seems.

Nope after 30 minutes, supervisor proceeds to tell me no, ra would put screws back nothing more.

then hangs up with me before we are finished.

WTF is That?

ORLY and they attach photos of phone from tech to the RA#.

Second Call. Lets see how this one goes.

Unsure if their system will be available by 5pm CST

Moisture damage is all encompassing. ANY moisture voids the phone.

Corrosion voids anything

built up of a liquid substance unknown origin.

Could take months to form.

physical damage by their techs is not covered

Referred to wireless manager.
Tony

Placed on hold yet again after 30minutes 27 seconds.

Now I understand tech support that there is not much they can do. But not wanting to refer me to a manager...

This moisture blanket issue is absurd.

They will not cover any damage done by LG Techs.

Phone is unrepairable due to moisture damage.

Moisture was not there when I sent it it, I know I checked it.

Now wtf do I do

Thanks for the updates. Will be very very hesitant to ever send anything to LG repair. The policy of not covering tech damage is ridiculous. It is so easily abused. Besides the fact that they physically damaged your phone and left screws out, the tech could just spray water on your phone to reduce their workload.
