Media data lost after system update

Hello

I have an enquiry I hope you can help me with.

I have a samsung note 4. I had a system update, which I clicked to accept. As a result, I lost all my media, text and contacts. Surprisingly, I still have my downloaded apps, however they are all reset with no data.

I tried to backup my media from my google account, but the only problem is I have not previously allowed google back up.

Could you please advice me on how I can recover my data/media, it is urgent.

It's most likely gone unless someone here has a solution. Step one of a system software update is back up important files. It even tells you that it will erase everything when you do it.
