Hi. My Google Nexus 7 tablet is stuck in some sort of standby mode. It's been charging for almost 17 hours now and when I try to switch on (including holding down power button and volume and/or down for 30+ secs) I just get a blank screen and an empty battery icon - or 5 flashing white lights.

I have scoured the net and can't find a solution - I've tried charging via my laptop, holding down the power and volume button together, unplugging and reinserting the charger, clearing the charging port... but I'm drawing a blank.

Please can anyone help!?

You've tried different charging cables?

It's possible that the micro-USB port is buggered up; it does support wireless charging, so you could try that as an alternative.

I have tried different cables, yes, although none of them are the original cable. But I've tried charging straight from my laptop but with no joy. How do I charge wirelessly?

You just need a wireless charging pad. I don't remember offhand which standard this thing uses but I'm sure you could find one on Amazon for cheap.

Just need to remove a case if it's more than a couple of mm thick.
