Verizon holds the copyright to any material mentioning Droid X. The fact that the ad was removed does not mean that the ad was theirs. it simply means that someone else violated their copyright by producing a bootleg ad about their product. I missed it, Damn!

No lucas film hold the copyright to the droid name and verizon licenses it from them. But I am sure part fo that agreement is that they control when and how and partner companies use it.
