Note 3 screen getting hot/usb disconnect.

Lately i am experiencing a really hot screen around the top of the phone. The only thing i have done differently is use it as a sat nav. This occurs even when i havebt used the phone for maps. Any ideas?
Also for the past 2 days my phone keeps saying USB disconnected when there has been nothing plugged in. Its strange. I think i will do a reset of the phone to see if it sorts it out but before i do. Any suggestions?

Take the battery out and see if it spins on a flat surface. If it does time for a new battery. That's what was causing my glitches. Don't forget to test both sides of the battery

The battery hasnr bubbled at all and is still flat. Though i will go get a new one as im using the original I got with the phone. When i updated to the latest OS i always do a master reset, i havent this time so if I do that it may help.
