Notification audio in car on Bluetooth

Hi brain trust. I need some help.

I'm trying to have my phone notifications not play through my cars Bluetooth audio when I have it paired.

I listen to music and audiobooks when driving. For some reason, when I get a notification usually texts (default Samsung messages app), 1 out of 5 times, the Bluetooth connection is dropped and no matter what I cannot repair until the car is turned off and then on again (2014 Camry, stock audio with Bluetooth).

So I'm trying to still have media paired but receive no notification audio through the Bluetooth but only come through the phone.

Is this possible?

Have you tried setting your phone to Vibrate/Silent while driving?

No! Didn't even think about that I guess bc I didn't want to miss calls. I'll try that!
