Android Central Question

This tablet was in use by an employee since departed from the company. Although we've succeeded in doing a hard factory reset--wipe all data--when it reboots the resulting message we come to after "Start" is that there was an "unauthorized" attempt at reset and we need to log in to continue restart. Without the password, is this a brick? Galaxy Tab SM-T580.

Welcome to Android Central! It's Factory Reset Protection. Are you able to contact the former employee to see if they'll cooperate?

Did you have MDM software on the device? I don't have any experience with enterprise device management, but I would think that MDM software would account for this kind of thing and allow the IT department to wipe the device without having to deal with FRP.
