Hi Guys and Girls,

I read this afternoon that there is going to be a partial solar eclipse of the sun on March 20th (over northern Europe). I've just ordered a pair of solar eclipse glasses (suitable for looking directly at the sun). If i place these glasses in front of my camera on my G3 to take a picture of the eclipse, will it damage my camera and will the image even show?

I want get some pictures of it but wanted to check that this method wont damage my camera?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks

Nope, it won't damage the camera. However, due to the added 'lens' and darkness, your camera might have issues focusing properly. You might want to try some tests shots outside when it's bright once you get the glasses.

If I take a picture or make a video directly with my S5, without any lens or anything in front of the camera, will it damage my S5? I wonder whether S5 has filter or something on it.

Thank you,
Nia
