Great find! One question though:
In the FAQ for this tablet on Amazon (see
https://www.amazon.com/ask/question...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6600260 ) a user "John" (not me!) wrote, "Says it has a GPS chip in the product description but in fact it does not." Another user says that it does.
You own this tablet, can you confirm that it has GPS and that it works the way you'd expect it to on a typical Android device (e.g. lets you get high precision location without Wifi, in Airplane mode, etc.) Thanks.
It seems to get precise location. I just pulled up my work location super fast. I was on wifi at first, but switched it off and still kept my location. I'll try it when I leave for lunch to see if it tracks me when I drive.
Separately, there are some minor things that should be noted that I didn't take into account before I bought it.
1) I HATE one UI. I came over from an Nvidia Shield K1 and have used the OnePlus 6T (and Moto X before that) which are both near stock android. It's much better than TouchWiz, but I immediately loaded Nova Launcher.
2) There is no Auto Dimming sensor for you screen brightness. Not a huge deal, because I can just 'set it and forget it,' but finding that day/night brightness balance can be a struggle. At night I sometimes find the screen too bright, and outside the screen is too dim, etc. And then there's how that might impact the battery life between charges, if at all.
3) No Adoptable storage for SD Cards. This is primarily why I'm returning the 32GB when the 128GB I bought on Amazon comes in. 32GB is fine, mostly, but I like the extra room for movies, comics, e-books, etc. The extra $20 for the 128GB version is a no brainer.
4) The screen doesn't shut off when using a flip cover. At first I thought it was the cheap case I got off amazon, but there doesn't seem to have a magnet sensor built in.
That's all I've noticed so far. Of these, I think no adoptable storage is the biggest complaint I have, especially when the 128GB version goes back up to full price. Kinda feels like Samsung is fleecing customers who can't justify the extra cost.
Updated to add that the screen doesn't shut off with a flip case.
