Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 - Does this make sense that I cannot restore a demo machine to factory state?

A

AC Question

I have seen a number of adverts on ebay for: -
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 SM-T817T 32GB, Wi-Fi + 4G

In the description the seller says: -
"Tablet was a store demo unit and has demo software installed that prevents you from restoring or turning the tablet off and plays a demo video every few minutes. All other features are functional. Excellent overall condition.”

I have checked and there is no screen burn-in so they say.

My question is - what do they mean about being prevented from restoring or turning off?
Is there a way to get around this?

I read that one must hold the volume key and power key together but I assume that the seller would have tried this.
Of course, if the answer was easy then I guess these units would have sold by now, but I am curious what is the problem and solution.

Thanks,

Hi, the device will have a software installed over the original for store demo purposes. You'll be able to turn the device off - unless they're boasting unlimited battery life, which doesn't exist. As for removing the software - I doubt it.
