Was really hoping Samsung had this fixed as the S21 Ultra looks like a pretty nice device, but this is the exact reason I bailed on the other Sammy devices I had.

Oh it's a great phone otherwise. It blows my pixel out of the water in some areas. It will be hard going back after getting used to looking at this screen for a few days lol

Yeah, loved my Pixel 4 camera. It just worked. But there is a lot I like about the s21u as well. Opened up some different compositions.

I just wish it didn't soften or blow out my white dog so much lol

This is the reason I will likely be leaving Samsung (currently on Note 10) and heading to the Pixel...or maybe even the iPhone. I'm tire of missing out on good photos of my kids when indoors.
I know workarounds are not the name of the game here but if you're getting a shot of something you know is going to be blurry, shoot a video instead and then use the function built in to export a frame. Also gives you the benefit of being able to pick your shot after the fact.

That's actually a really good idea ... May have to grab me an ultra now and play around with this lil work around

Appreciate the idea, but for me, that is more involved than I want to get for a good shot. I just want to be able to take my phone out and get a quick shot. Plus the idea of choosing a frame after the fact will make someone as indecisive as me go mad. Again, that is not at all to say I don't appreciate the response/idea (nor to suggest that it's not a good idea for others). And maybe I'll try it in the interim. But long-term, I still think I'll be moving away from Samsung.

Same - I made the switch to iPhone 12 Pro Max because of the same issues that I’m seeing year after year with the blurring and soft face processing that for some reason Samsung just chooses not to change, or correct with their software.

I know this is a Samsung forum, but I’m sorry- some of these pics on here really make me feel better about my choice to switch platforms. Just look at the difference in user posted photos between these and the ones on MacRumors for iPhone 12 Pro Max, and you can just see the difference. I’ve loved the galaxy series for many years, but I definitely don’t miss the inconsistency of the camera.

I said the truth would come out after release when all the pre-release hype on YouTube and Twitter was going on over the camera lol. It will be the same thing next year.
