Slow WiFi and 4G Speeds HTC ONE M8

I wonder if anyone can help me.

The speed on both 4g and WiFi is a lot slower on my HTC.

I have tried the same sim in 2 phones (this and a Samsung) and speedtest.net always gives the same result. I've auto downloaded the setting for both of the network providers i have but still the same results

So I've had Android since the beginning with the original HTC and since the s2 I've kept within this family. I'm also fairly techno savvy so have tried all of the obvious and basic steps my issue with no success.
So I cracked my S5 screen recently and decided to try something different and I bought a HTC One M8. I've got a Tesco and a giff gaff sim.

Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! The SIM shouldn't affect wi-fi speeds. Do you have a case on the phone? If so, is the speed still slow with the case off? Some cases with metal in them can interfere with reception.
