I am sure you must have checked, but are there any settings on the router that prevent it from being recognized? Does the phone work on 2.4GHz n band?

Got an official response from Motorola:

This phone has a 802.11g 2.4 GHz wireless adapter. It will not connect to a Wi-Fi connection that is operating on an 802.11n 5 GHz router.

From Motorola's website:

BLUETOOTH? TECHNOLOGY5
Stereo Bluetooth? technology 2.1+EDR (supports profiles A2DP 1.2, AVRCP, HFP 1.5 AG, HID 1.0 Host, HSP 1.0, OPP, PBAP PSE)

SYNCHRONIZATION
Corporate Sync, BOTA, OMA DM

WIFI
802.11 a,b,g,n

3G MOBILE HOTSPOT1
Be a mobile hot spot for up to 5 other WiFi-enabled devices

Then under the help section, it lists the WiFi as:

Wireless Lan Supported Specs

•802.11b/g/n
•WEP
•WPA/WPA2 PSK
•802.1x Enterprise

Which sounds like there is no 5GHz, since they don't list 802.11a

Where did you find this? On the Motorola Atrix website, under specs, it lists WiFi as 802.11 a,b,g,n.

Yes, but then go through the help menu:

Product Support > SEARCH FAQS > TROUBLESHOOTING > Troubleshoot Wi-Fi

Wireless Lan Supported Specs

?802.11b/g/n
?WEP
?WPA/WPA2 PSK
?802.1x Enterprise

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 and I can connect my atrix to both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks without any problems. I keep my atrix on the 5ghz ssid.
