Trouble rooting my desire with Unrevoked 3

Having a bit of trouble rooting my desire, followed The Droid Demos Forum • View topic - [GUIDE] One Click How to Root the Desire with unrEVOked 3.21 to the letter. The modified USB driver is installed (and shows up under android device in task manager in Hboot but under unknown device labeled as "ABD" when running normally) and USB debugging is enabled, but Unrevoked3 is saying "Waiting for device. Plug phone in now and enable USB debugging. Make sure HTC sync is *not* installed!".

Can anyone help out?

Disregard previous post, my phone came with Hboot 0.92 (which I have since updated to 0.93 /facepalm) which is apparently unrootable at this moment.

I don't think the HBOOT affects U3. Try again.

Try this method. Carefully follow the directions in post 3 and 4. Those are the directions I used to root my Desire.
