"Universal" G8 on Sprint just got an OS update, can no longer hide navigation bar?

My phone, which is apparently "Universally Unlocked" and running on Sprint's network just got an OS update..... a lot of things look different, but the main thing that struck me is that I seem to no longer be able to hide the navigation bar. I find it pretty annoying when I want to use an app in full screen like I used to be able to do and now they take up less of the screen because the bar is in the way. Before I could just swipe up to bring up the bar, but all options and icons to do that seem to be gone. Anyone know if there is some option anywhere to have it hide again? Pretty ridiculous to just remove the ability to hide the bar in an update.

I had my phone set up like you to hide the 3 button navigation bar but switched to gesture navigation when my phone updated to Android 10 and have looked back.
