I rooted my Droid X a year ago to use it as a wifi hotspot for my notebook computer. I rooted it with Z4 but 2 months ago, VZW updated my phone without my consent or knowledge and put an anti-root patch in it. I can't use Barnacle wifi hotspot app anymore though there is still Super User in my phone. I rerooted my phone with SuperOneClick but it didn't work.

I also tried DIY Phone Gadget's 1-Click wifi app which doesn't need rooting but VZW's message showed up to use their hotspot instead.

I believe some gurus in this forum have ways to use my Droid X as a wifi hotspot again. Please help me.

I don't think they updated your phone without alerting you. I have noticed, however, that Verizon has taken steps to stop people from illegally using wifi hotspot. I don't know of a way to do it. Also, they can change your plan to include the wifi hotspot fee if you continue to do it.
