I notice I can sync my aim, yahoo, msn accounts to my thunderbolt. I've been trying to sign into the service but it keeps telling me verizon services is temporary unavailable. Do I need the aim, yahoo, and msn apps installed on my phone for it to work or what?

no, you don't need to install yim or anything, just be ware that each message sent will be charged as a text, if you have unlimited texting, then no big deal though.

I don't think so. I think it uses data. That is if you are using the stock google talk app

I use trillian on vth my desktop and tunderbolt to sign into yahoo aim MSN etc. It will even sync your conversations so when you get a message on your mobile and then sign onto your desktop the mobile message will be there.
