There's a big cemetery in Cologne called the Melaten Friedhof. It covers 435.000 sqm with 55.000 graves. Some of them are very old and I have always enjoyed walking around it, through huge ancient trees, and enjoying the peace inside a busy city. Years ago I discovered the guy in the picture. I can never really remember where he is but every time I go back I stumble upon him.
Where many graves are watched over by life size angels there is only one where death ensures peace. It is one of a very young child.
I took this in the autumn afternoon light with my Nexus 5. I meant to work on it in Snapseed but discovered Google had gotten to it before me. I wasn't able to produce a result I liked better than so here's my googlised work for this week.
