Why cant I unlock my phone after software update.

[Android Central Question]

I updated my software for the J7 pro and as soon it asked me to restart the phone which I did and it started but I cannot access the phone. It says swipe to unlock but it does not give me the option to unlock. it just shows me the notifications. looks like the screen is unresponsive. Please help.

This was an OTA update?

It's just that no phone that I've ever had has instructed me to restart after a software update, either OTA or via an official update tool on a PC.
