Why can't i use an usb stick type-C with my phone

I bought the Kingston USB 32GB DT microDuo 3C Type-C but when i put it in my OnePlus Two it would not find it. I even turn on the OTG storage in the settings. I do not know if it is defective or something. My OnePlus Two is compatible with OTG storage.

You need an OTG cable for the phone to recognize a USB stick.

I've got the 64GB version of the data traveler, it doesn't work because the USB port on the phone is only USB 2, and the USB C connector on the flash drive isn't backwards compatible.

It's annoying, but it does work with the USB A connector plugged into an OTG cable.

It's best to assume I'm being sarcastic. if I'm ever serious I'll type "/s" to make it clear.

does oneplus 2 have usb 2.0 or 3.0 or 3.1 type c Connection because I bought the Kingston USB 32GB DT microDuo 3C Type-C. It have usb 3.1 type c and i don't know if my phone sopport it.
