Why has my battery just started charging only to 92%?

AC Question

Since last week every night I charge my phone it stops at between 90 and 93% (normally 92%). I'm using same charger, same amount of time. It doesn't make sense? When I try unplugging the charger and trying again the length of time just keeps increasing rather than charging the phone. The only way it will charge to 100% is if I put it in safe mode but then I lose most of my content on my home screens when I reboot it. Any ideas anyone?? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to AC.

Safe Mode? There then you have the answer....something is interfering with the phone's battery metering. Check all your third-party app permissions.
However it may be a system problem. Try a Cache Partition wipe.

Or cache wipe, then in safe mode when the phone is at about 85%, run any app you think might be misbehaving. If it stops charging at 90-93%, that's the app causing the problem.
