Why is my LG Optimus Black freezing on the opening LG icon and won't do anything else?

Help, My LG Optimus Black is freezing on the opening LG icon and won't do anything else.

It needs resuscitating, it started couple of days ago, couldn't see SD card, replaced with new card still NG. Then when txting the letters appeared very slow. Then this morning the alarm went and would not shut off - had to power phone off.
Now when I power it on it freezes at the opening screen with the LG icon. Trying to do a hard reset, but it won't do it, just stays on icon screen.
I have taken SD and Sim cards out to make sure they don't become corrupt.

Can anyone help me?????? Is it possible to reset it from my pc or an app on my pc?
I don't know my serial number and IMEI as the cell won't show them to me anymore. Is there any hope for my cell, or do I have to get a new phone.
