Android Central Question

So last night I restarted my phone because Youtube refused to start and kept crashing. So I restarted and when it finished it said that the SD card I had in my phone had been removed. I tried taking the back off and pushing the card in further (Didn't work.) Then I tried actually taking the SD card out and plugging it back in. It said that it was a new SD card and that it had to be wiped to become internal storage again. This is making me really upset since I don't know exactly the extent of what was on that card. I've tried restarting multiple times and while my mom says it's gonna update and be fine, I don't believe her. Help... :((

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, the card may have become corrupt, which is always a risk when using one. This is why we always caution against keeping important data only on the SD card (and not backed up anywhere else).

If you remove it and put it into a PC's SD reader, does it show up there? If so, try using chkdsk to see if there are any bad sectors: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html

That's a good point -- given the unreliability of SD cards in general, it's not a good idea to format them as internal storage.
I think that's what the OP is experiencing a bad sd card and apps are crashing because of it , Sd cards are not for internal storage for this reason, very slow read speeds , unpredictable crashes ,freezes ..not worth it.
