Will I be able to get updates if I'm running an unlocked Verizon pixel on AT&T?

I can pick up a supposedly factory unlocked pixel that will work on all carriers..... but in the feedback section someone said they couldn't unlock the bootloader because it's a Verizon phone. I want to use it on AT&T, which the description says it will work fine on. But I'm concerned I won't be able to get updates on it without having to put a Verizon sim in it.

The description says it will work on both GSM and CDMA carriers, just like my current MXPE.

What's the disadvantages of not being able to unlock the bootloader, and will I have update issues? As you can tell I'm pretty new to this stuff =-O

I have a verizon xl running on T-mobile, no issues whatsoever.

Google handles the updates, so you don't have to rely on the carrier. Makes a night and day difference.

You should be able to just pop your sim on and go
