Email client recommendation

I am looking to try a new email client. I have tried the stock email and I have been using K-9. Are there any others you would recommend that I try?

The problem with K-9 is that when I download my email from my desktop I have set it to delete the mail on the server. However it still is downloaded to K-9 even after it should have been deleted on the server. In other words I don't wish mail that I have already read on my desktop to download to K-9. I am using Windows Live Mail on my desktop.

Which requires an Exchange back end, no?

I think Touchdown will support Microsoft Live, Outlook and many others.
