Could a bad/defective sim card affect a phones performance? scratchy/staticy ear speaker, not being heard clearly when making calls even to poor sound from my bluetooth earpiece? I have a new sim card, can i program it with my current number? Verizon G2, by the way.
Thanks

No... A defective SIM would not effect voice quality.

You could always call CS and have your number moved to the SIM, but it likely won't effect your issues.

Since it effects BT as well that kind of throws any any chance its just a speaker issue. Sounds like a bad DSP in something assuming others on Verizon in your area do not have this issue. I would try using the Kies or LG flash tool and reflash the stock images, but it likely needs replacement.
