Question about contract ending

I just have a quick question, I'm 17 and am on a family plan with my 2 other brothers and mother. I currently am a little strapped for cash because I would like to purchase a TV during black friday but still want to upgrade my eris. If my contract ends (January 26) before I upgrade and renew it what normally happens? When I go to buy a new phone will I no longer be eligible for my unlimited 3g to be grandfathered to 4g?

You will continue to have the same contract terms. If you extend, chances are that your current plan will be grandfathered unless the carrier changes there policy. Call the carrier to be sure.
