6 months from the date of activation on prepaid

Per policy you are correct however there are reports that you can put it on postpaid without meeting the 6 months requirement

I think its dumb that you can't use a prepaid phone on post paid service, I use to do it on at&t by just swapping Sim cards

Go online to my Verizon, you can do it there. I would suggest that option as you don't need to deal with a person. You can also call or do it in store but they might hassle you. Verizon is not known for its customer friendly policies, so it doesn't surprise me

Exactly. Do this online. Taking it to a Verizon store will likely get you a no, as they'll tell you about the "six months" policy mentioned above.
