If you take another lines upgrade what happens?

So im in a family plan of 5 lines.

Im the only line that uses a Smartphone.

If i take the upgrade of one of the other lines to get another smartphone, will the other line be required to get a data plan?

No it wont. The features that a line has are dependent on the device on the line not what kind of upgrade subsidy it got. If your other phone does not otherwise require a data plan then nothing changes for it other than the upgrade date being advanced (22 months) and contract expiration two years (24 months). Also said line will now qualify for the new higher ETF if it didn't before.
