Error downloading...There is insufficeint space...

I know this is talked about in a lot of places, but there doesn't seem to really be a solution I could find. I have Gelato 11-28 and I have tons of space, but I keep getting "error downloading... there is insufficient space on the device." i realize this is a cache and dlavik cache issue. i have cleared them, but it doesn't help. i saw this:

does it work with the slider? are there other solutions? this is the dumbest error ever. thanks!

I followed a guide that let me do Link2sd and it works great.

Is this the only way to address the issue of the appalling lack of storage mon the phone and the fact that many apps "need" to be on the phone and not on the SD card.

I have that same issue - and I was hoping that I did something wrong when I set up my phone, and resetting it would address the issue. Any chance of that?
