Help. New Lenovo S8, can't restore games from Nexus 7

I got my wife a new Lenovo S8, and created a gmail account for it.

I added this account to the old Nexus 7 and removed the old account ID from it.

I set the official backup and restore to the new gmail account.

I made this the Restore and Backup account officially on the Lenovo S8.

But NONE of the apps and games from the Nexus 7 are appearing on the S8.

Perhaps some of the apps aren't compatible with the new device?

Candy Crush Saga and similar from King.

If I download Candy Crush Saga from Google Play store, it starts at 0, not at level 500 or whatever my wife is at.

THREE HOURS I have been beating my head against this, with an M.S. in Computer Science from M.I.T.

Jeez.

I used Facebook connection to the Candy Crush etc and that worked. Had to do the 6 apps Facebook connect one at a time on the old Nexus 7, then log in via Facebook on the Lenovo S8 one at a time. What a goddam pain.

No idea why stupid Android would not load the Apps as promised in the 20 articles I read online.

Wake up GOOGLE. You can do better than this.

Will stick with Apple from now on, 100x faster updates and connections.
