Problem with "News" app

I have been using the "News" app that comes with Android as my RSS reader. I entered all the feeds from the Feedreader I used on my Pre by URL. However, every time it updates, it redisplays all the stories I've read and deleted as new. Keeps doing that no matter how many times I delete them.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this just the way the Android "News" app works? Very frustrating to get all the old items returned as new every time it refreshes......

No that's not normal. Once you read the story it shouldn't even return. Wish I had a solution for you. Maybe try a different reader from the market.

That was going to be my next step.

Anyone have a good, simple RSS reader they would recommend? (Just need simple RSS feeds, nothing fancy like google reader or podcasts or anything like that).
