Why does Alarm Clock not save Alarm Tone?

This was the case in Lollipop and now also in Marshmallow on multiple devices so it has to be a glitch in the OS.... I don't typically use the built in ringtones for an Alarm Tone when I use the alarm clock and instead use songs that are stored on my device. Irregardless of whether I use a built-in tone or a downloaded song, it never saves the song I have chosen and always reverts back to the default, Morning Flower. What is the deal with this? When I had my S5 and was using KitKat, it worked flawlessly. As soon as we went to Lollipop, this issue started and I thought for sure it would be fixed in Marshmallow, but alas, it has not.... Anybody else having this issue? I can't possibly be the only one. To be sure, it started on my S5 after updating to Lollipop, then my Note 5 both on Lollipop and now Marshmallow.
