Google Inbox Gone?

Even though Google said Inbox would be discontinued at the end of March, some time last night the app stopped getting my mail and when I open it I get a message that says "No Connection." Now Gmail, which I've kept on my phone, is getting mail but I'm getting zero notifications, probably because Inbox is my primary email app. Before I delete Inbox has this happened to anyone else?

Yep, no longer in my Google playstore. Shame, I liked it, now having to use Gmail.

Well I uninstalled Inbox but I'm still not getting ANY notifications. Nothing in the shade, no numerical dots on the app icon, no sound.

Are you saying that after you uninstalled Inbox you were able to reinstall it or are you now using Gmail. I have to use Gmail after a factory reset because Inbox is no longer listed on Google playstore.

I have now just reread your original post and I can see that you are actually using Gmail now.. l agree, you do need to check your settings for notifications in Gmail.

Yeah I'm using Gmail, like you Inbox was gone from the Google Play store. I've already checked my settings and everything is on. I want to say this started right after the last update a few days ago

Just a thought..

Are you sure you are not getting the notifications at all and that the notifications are just coming in very late? It has been the subject of a very long thread that after an update Gmail notifications were coming in very late due to the update having a doze mode which causes very late notifications.

I looked up doze and that thread and don't think that's the problem. I'm not getting notifications period, not delayed. If I don't open the app and see the new mail there I wouldn't know I have mail at all.

Well the problem was solved by uninstalling Inbox and then clearing the data on Gmail. I'm missing Inbox already.

Inbox is one important thing (that was) keeping me on Google products and Android. Bundles and message pinning have become almost indispensable to me. Gmail doesn't have anything sufficiently comparable. Seens so idiotic that as of now I have no confidence whatsoever in Google and its products.
