Currently I use the Nexus 4 as my daily driver, but the battery life really disappoints me since owning it. I've used the Nexus 5 for a few weeks and it was considerably better, but the microphone issues made me return it.

I unplugged my Nexus 4 today around 9:00 AM in the morning and 10:35 PM the phone shut down.

This is not an acceptable battery life for me and I didn't do anything special with it today. Looking up the public transit data, made a few short phone calls and that's about it. Screen time is under 1 and a half hour!

Maybe something is wrong. I also use Greenify and undervolted the phone (-48mV). And I use franco.Kernel.

What phone has really good battery life? I considered the Moto X at first, so maybe the Moto X + 1 will be good. But I really want to be able to unplug my phone at 6-7 AM and have it still running at 12PM/1AM at least.

I don't like very big screens. 5 inch is max I think. 4.7/4.8 inch preferred.

In your screenshots, you device is waking up a lot, and it looked to lock up for 15 to 20 minutes, that looked like it caused a 5% drop in your battery. I am not sure what to suggest though. 18 hours is a pretty long time to go between charges without getting a bigger device (which means a bigger battery). You could look at device that have removable batteries so that you can buy extras and swap them.

I do rather love the Moto X though. Great device.

I see it could be problematic to ask for such battery life in a compact package. Would 2-3 hours of extra battery life be more feasible? In that case I would have had a working phone when on the go. Now I sometimes don't which could be dangerous in some situations. So then I could unplug it at 9AM and it would still work around 12PM.

I've heard of cases that have huge batteries in them that add on to the current battery power, maybe try to find one of those for your phone or try installing a battery saver. What I used to do on my pantech burst was turn mobile data off wifi off Bluetooth and GPS off and put it in airplane mode to save a bit off battery but I obviously wouldn't be able to receive texts or calls.

I know you said your max was 5 in but the G2 has amazing battery life. It has a 5.2 in screen but the device size is very manageable. It is also available for a pretty great price.
