Questions about translations:

1. What are the most useful languages for textual descriptions of your app?
2. Do you use google's paid translation services?

Kind regards.

1. For me Spanish and English are enough, but I don't have a massive number of downloads to analyse
2. I read other people use Fiverr (a web page were people offers services for 5 bucks) for translations, other paid services are pretty expensive (but probably much better)

Regards!

Actually something we're discussing at the moment. Issue for us is our game is very text heavy, (at least 40-50 thousand words at a rough estimate) and future updates are only going to increase that so the sheer cost of translating basically isn't something we can really justify until we've had at least moderate success.

If anyone knows of cheap & reliable translation services, I'd love to hear about them! We're probably considering Portugese, Russian, German and simplified Chinese.

The 10 most spoken languages at "I am not allowed to use URLs (sucks) " cover about 50% of all people:

1. Chinese1,197,000,000
2. Spanish414,000,000
3. English335,000,000
4. Hindi 260,000,000
5. Arabic 237,000,000
6. Portuguese203,000,000
7. Bengali193,000,000
8. Russian167,000,000
9. Japanese122,000,000
10. Javanese84,300,000

So, I go for these 10 plus the easy ones that I more or less speak.

Problem remains manual translations. Google translation mixes nouns and verbs.
e.g. "3 jumps" is translated wrongly asif "he jumps" . However, "three jumps" is translated correctly.
The point is that the target description in my game (redacted by Moderator)contains phrases as "33 jumps", etc.
So, having this correct in Mandarin will be nice puzzle ;-)
