Android Central Question

Everything on my onn. tablet is backwards. I've done the reset, restarted it, tried doing forcing the text back right, but nothing is helping. The tablet was bought for my kids schoolwork.

Welcome to Android Central! In the system settings, look for Developer Options. If it's not currently visible, then go to Settings>About Tablet, and tap Build Number 7 times. Then go to Developer Options and look for Force RTL Layout -- make sure that's off.

As I was reading the thread title, I just couldn't help but think of an old George Carlin joke: "Backwards words say to used I. Again go I there. S*** oh!":p

^ It’s funny you should say. A Hungarian friend just texted me a Hungarian palindrome: Indul a görög aludni; the Greek starts to sleep. It isn’t very funny of course, but I’ve been doing a lot of barrel-scraping of late.

Welcome to Android Central! Ok, so have you already checked the Developer Options for the Force RTL Layout setting? Review my post no. 3 in this thread.

i checked the Force RTL Layout - it is off. i booted in safe mode, wiped cache partition and ran a factory reset from Android recovery. it looks like it was after some update.

Is the text a mirror image, or are the letters normal, but simply in reversed order?

They seem to be mirrored plus hitting a letter gives you a different letter.the rtl was fine, I did a complete factory reset but everything is still f-up. It seems to have happened to alot of ONN TABLETS today, but I have 2 other ONNs and they are fine

Have you tried safe mode ? See if any 3rd party apps responsible

To get into Safe Mode on most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

On certain devices, you have to power off, then power back on, but when you see the manufacturer logo appear, press and hold Vol Down until the homescreen appears.

safe mode does not work - if i face the ONN tablet into a mirror and view it from the mirror i can see it as normal. tapping a certain icons or letters will give you different letters or icons. the bootup is also in a mirrored state.

Did this happen after a system update, or does it seem unrelated? Considering that it seems to be happening to a number of ONN tablet owners, I'd suspect either a glitchy update, or faulty hardware or firmware.

As I look through a number of recent posts asking about this same issue, it does appear that it happened after a system update. My guess is that ONN messed up its update. Your best bet at this point is to contact the manufacturer for support (and hope they actually have an IT support team). Or, since ONN appears to be exclusive to Walmart, contact Walmart's customer support.

Re: Why my android is showing reverse display?

I found this information online and it may help. There is an update due 3rd June.
