Stock Samsung calendar app date not updating in icon

[Android Central Question]

When on the home page or apps page, the icon for my calendar always shows Tuesday the 19th instead of the correct day/date. Settings are set to automatically update date and time, I have toggled with these settings and restarted the phone and also tried deleting the app from the home page then re-adding it. It has been stuck like this for months, phone has been through several software updates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Make sure your not using a theme , if that's good clear its data,cache and force stop it.

Yes, I am using a theme! I've just disabled it and now the icon has updated. Thank you! I've checked a lot of other forums and none of them mentioned the fact it could be the theme.
