Budget smartphone that allows for different notification sounds for calls, emails and texts?

We have had Motorola phones for years. This last year, I bought new Moto G6s for my wife and me. Now, there is no way to designate a different notification sound for texts. I know that this may seem like a minor thing, but it is annoying.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about a different notification tone for all texts, or different notifications for different message threads?

To change the notification tone for all texts, go to Settings>Apps, select the messaging app, then Notifications, then look for the option to change the tone there.

To customize notification tones for specific message threads, select a thread, tap the Menu button, then Details>Notifications>Advanced, and change the tone there.
