Why has my P20 Pro all of a sudden stopped connecting to the Internet when out of range of my Wi-Fi?

[Android Central Question]

All my Apps are 'allowed' to use my mobile Data when out of range of my Wi-Fi and it always worked well. But for the past week, when I try to send something on Facebook, say, when out of range of my Wi-Fi, I get the message, 'Oops, you have no Internet connection'. I think I must have removed a tick from a box by accident but if so, I cannot work out what it is. None of the Apps will work away from home.

Is mobile data turned on?

Do you have a data account with your carrier?

Do you have any data left this billing period?

(You shouldn't have WiFi and mobile data enabled at the same time - you have no way of telling which app is going to use which connection, and some apps have no way of figuring out which one to use.)
