Why won't music play through speakers but will through headphones?

[Android Central Question]

If I connect standard (3.5mm) jack headphones music will play. If I then connect a standard jack aux cable to speakers, music doesn't play.

I have tried various speakers and various aux cables with same results. Different headphones all work also.

I have a Galaxy A21s with Android Version 10. Using Amazon Music for the music.

Hoping it's just a simple setting somewhere, but I can't find anything.

Make sure the headphone jack is clean , maybe blow a can of compressed air.

Welcome to Android Central! What kind of speakers are you trying to use? Do they require a power source?
