My wifes S7 edge started playing up on Saturday. Kept switching off and immediately rebooted every 30 to 60 seconds. Tried to do a software update and then a backup but both times it just kept switching off before completing. Managed in the end to do a factory reset which seem to solve the problem. The only problem is that the only backup she had was from Jan 2020, so has now lost photos, videos and message after this time. I've tried recovery software without success. Any advice will be greatly received

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, no -- you can't recover any files that were only saved locally. Are you sure she wasn't automatically backing up her photos and videos to Google Photos or some other cloud backup?
