is it possible to continue adding footage in a video file once filming is stopped?

Not that I've seen. You would have to create a new video, then use a video editor to combine them into one.

To my knowledge no, and I'm into videography and photography so I tend to read up on these things. It should technically be possible but every camera I'm aware of saves the file after recording and you can't add to that file, you create another and merge them in a video editor.

Although if possible to do it I'd like to know how.
