Facebook Messenger Pictures Saving As Blank Screen?

Recently I was able to save pictures from Facebook Messenger to my Gallery on my Android tablet with no trouble.
When I touch the picture and select the Save Image option it takes a few seconds and then a pop up notification at the bottom of the screen says image saved. That's how it always done.

Now when I save a picture and I open my Gallery to check the Messenger folder, the picture is a blank screen.

I've deleted other photos to make space.
I've cleared the Cache and Data from the app.
I've reinstalled the Facebook Messenger app.

Please, can anyone help with this?

Same here on my galaxy S2.
Latest messenger, android 4.1.2.
Clearing data and cache on messenger didnt help.
