AC Question

I use messaging as my default for texting on my phone, and just recently it has started spamming me with "message not sent" notifications when I open, am using, or close the app, even though all my messages have sent without problems. I've tried restarting my phone, clearing the app's cache, clearing data, force stopping the app, and changing my default text app to something else and back to Messaging, all without success. I don't want to turn off notifications for the app since I would miss texts. How do I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone are you using? You mean that you're using the stock Messaging app, right? Where are the notifications appearing--in the notification bar or as popups?

Who is your cellular provider?

I used to have the same problem when I was on Sprint. Would often last for a few days, go away for weeks or months and then return.

Something to do with the carrier not sending an acknowledgement signal back to the sending phone or something like that.

I have a Moto X. I am using the default messaging app for my phone, which I believe is what you mean by stock.. The notifications show up in the notification bar.
