This is my first post but I am a long time fan of these forumns. I know there are many android experts on here and I'm hoping one of you can help me answer a simple question.
Got a new phone a few months back (Droid) running what I believe to be KitKat. After not using the phone for 20 seconds or so it will go to sleep (that's great). But afterward it seems even a small bump or vibration will make it display the time and give the option to unlock it (as if the lock/unlock button was pressed). Question is, can this behavior be turned off either through a setting or 3rd party app? I am concerned about battery life. On my previous android phone (much older) the ONLY way to initiate a unlock was with a button press. I was quite pleased with this. I believe if my phone is constantly checking gyro for movement and also constantly turning screen on/off to offer the option to unlock then its wasting precious battery life. I mountain bike and jog with my phone in addition to constantly moving at work and feel like this feature isn't for me. BTW my phone is not rooted. Thanks in advance.
