htc one m8 gmail issue

Does anyone know how to make gmail the dedicated email app on the HTC one M8 instead of mail?

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean dedicated? You can always remove all of the email accounts from the Email app. Or you can completely Disable the Email app in Settings>Apps>All​. If you do, you may as well Disable Exchange Services, since Gmail doesn't need that.

Thanks. I just find the layout of Gmail more friendly than the mail app which just bundled all my emails together rather than divide them into their folders that Gmail has. Once again thNks for getting back to me.
