Due to my own excitement/naivety,I thought I had ordered the new Moto X online then received the first gen.Any advice/lessons?lol

You could call Motorola and ask about a return. The online offer is probably void now that you tried to use it. You can call them to see what they say. Push comes to shove, the 1st generation X is a great device. If you don't feel like going through all that, it is an excellent device to keep.
